What is a Content Management System?
A content management system is a online database system that allows the average person to update content on their website.
In this case, the My Club Website content management system has been designed with a clubs special club features in mind. You will be given the tools you need to administrator the content on your site through an administration interface.
What is a domain?
A domain or URL is the address that your visitors and members will use to view your club website. Such as, "http://www.thecondorscricketclub.com" for example.
What if my club doesn’t have a domain?
That’s easy. When setting up your new My Club Website, we can give you a domain to use which will look like <yourclubname>.myclubwebsite.com.au. For example, condors.myclubwebsite.com.au. We try to give a domain that suits your club website as best as possible. However as each domain must be unique for each club registered with us, we unfortunately can not promise anything in this area we are sorry.
This domain will always be yours and is free with your subscription to My Club Website permanently. The domain can be used while setting up your website or until your currently registered domain (if you have registered one) is transferred to My Club Website.
Of course, you most likely want to have your own identifying, unique website domain. You can register your club domain through what are called domain registry companies which you can find online. My Club Website can also register your domain name for you as well. Simply when registering with us, request the domain you want to register. When setting up your site we’ll check if the requested domain is available and we’ll register it for you.
What if I don’t have a current club website?
No worries there. You can just register with My Club Website. Once we’ve set you up in our system you’ll have a brand new club website that is now yours to update and maintain when and how you please.
What if my club already has a site?
That site can still exist. Your new My Club Website will just need to have another domain name for it. However it is recommended that you no longer use your old/current site and transfer the domain name to our hosting company so that all of your information can be found on the one website.
How do I forward my club domain to My Club Website?
If you have an existing club website domain you will need to tell us during the registration process. If you don’t, don’t worry, in the administration area of your club website there is a option available to request a domain to be setup for your club website. YOU CAN HAVE AS MANY DOMANS FORWARDED TO YOUR SITE AS YOU WANT!
When registering with us, we will email you instructions for forwarding your domain to My Club Website.
